Bremworth CEO Steps Down Following Boardroom Shake-Up

Apr 11, 2025

Bremworth Limited (NZX: BRW), a wool carpet and rug manufacturer, has announced the departure of its chief executive, Greg Smith, in what the new chair describes as a mutual decision. Smith, who served nearly four years in the role, will be succeeded on an interim basis by Craig Woolford. The leadership change follows a recent board overhaul, where Rob Hewett replaced George Adams as chair in a boardroom reshuffle. Smith, formerly the CEO of Icebreaker and an executive at Michael Hill Jeweller, led Bremworth through a strategic shift toward wool-only products. His exit signals ongoing transformation at the company, which has focused on sustainable and natural flooring solutions. The board expressed appreciation for Smith’s contributions during a critical phase of the company’s evolution and stated that a search for a permanent CEO is now underway.
