KMD Brands Limited (ASX: KMD), the parent company of outdoor apparel retailers Kathmandu and Oboz, is facing significant pressure due to looming US tariffs. Analysts from Forsyth Barr—Paul Koraua and Rohan Koreman-Smit—have lowered their target price for the company by 21.6%, citing the expected financial impact of “unmitigated tariff impacts” on its US operations. Despite maintaining an outperform rating, they revised the target price from 60 cents to 47 cents. Since April 2, when US President Donald Trump flagged new tariff measures, KMD’s share price has dropped 12% to 33 cents at the time of writing. The anticipated rise in import costs is likely to weigh on margins and profitability, raising concerns for investors about KMD’s exposure to global trade tensions. The tariff-related uncertainty poses a serious challenge to the company’s US sales outlook in the coming quarters.
