Finaccess Launches $630 million Full Takeover Bid for Restaurant Brands

Sep 30, 2025

Mexican investment group Finaccess Restauración, a subsidiary of Grupo Finaccess, has announced a full takeover bid for Restaurant Brands New Zealand Limited (NZX: RBD) at $5.05 per share, valuing the fast-food operator at around $630 million. Finaccess, which already owns 75.02% of Restaurant Brands following its partial takeover in 2019, described the offer as its “final and best price” and stated it would not be raised further.

The move gives minority shareholders an opportunity to exit at a premium, as the offer represents a higher valuation compared to recent trading prices. The deal, if accepted, would allow Finaccess to gain complete ownership of the company, which operates major franchises such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Carl’s Jr, and Taco Bell across New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific region. This takeover could reshape the company’s strategic direction under full Finaccess control.
